Reports: 2020 Mountain West Media Days To Be Held Virtually

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to reports, the Mountain West Conference will not hold their annual media days in person this year.

Brett McMurphy from Stadium reports that the conference will have their media days held virtually rather than their scheduled site of Los Angeles, California from July 16-17.

It is unknown if the conference will stick with the original dates, switch to a different set of dates or go to just one day rather than two.

The Conference Commissioner Craig Thompson hinted at the possibility of a virtual media day two weeks ago. It will be the first time that the Mountain West will hold media days virtually. It was also the first time that the event was going to be held in Los Angeles after normally being held in Las Vegas.

Each conference has either one or two days where they have coaches and players represented from each team in that conference available for interviews with the media. These media days are usually done with football and men’s basketball and hosted by the conference.

For the independent teams like BYU, the school holds their own media day.

The Mountain West has not sent out any release regarding this year’s media days. The Pac-12 holds their media days towards the end of July but has not announced anything about if it will be done in person or virtually.
