Weber State HC Jay Hill Issues Goatee Challenge To Signify Greatest Month Of All-Time

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State head football coach Jay Hill posted a video on Twitter urging his players and everyone in the community to grow a goatee and make it the greatest month of all-time.

With the pause in live sports including spring football due to the coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak, Hill wants to make this the best month ever and wants everyone (who can) grow a goatee.

“I have a challenge for everyone,” Hill stated. “I am going to start with our football team. We are going to make this the greatest month of all-time. We are going to find a way through our workouts, through spending time with our families, through enjoying great scenery, find a way to make this the best of all-time month.”

“To remember it everyday, I want you to look in the mirror and grow a goatee,” Hill continued. “Mine is coming in a little grey which is a little embarrassing, but I am going to get all of our players and anybody else who wants to join to make this the greatest of all-time month. You ladies out there, we would love for you to join in. I don’t know how you grow a goatee, maybe you grow out your leg hair. But again, we are going to make this the greatest of all-time month and we are going to signify it with our goatee. We are going to get together as people and I can’t wait to see everybody’s goatee’s on social media.

Like every other program in the country, Weber State’s spring football practices were canceled after the outbreak.

How Do I Prevent It?

The CDC has some simple recommendations, most of which are the same for preventing other respiratory illnesses or the flu:

• Avoid close contact with people who may be sick
• Avoid touching your face
• Stay home when you are sick
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

The CDC does not recommend wearing a face mask respirator to protect yourself from coronavirus unless a healthcare professional recommends it.

If  you see evidence of PRICE GOUGING, the Utah Attorney General’s Office wants you to report it. Common items in question include toilet paper, water, hand sanitizer, certain household cleaners, and even cold medicine and baby formula. Authorities are asking anyone who sees price gouging to report it to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection at 801-530-6601 or 800-721-7233.
