Bracket: Who Is The State Of Utah’s Best College Basketball Player Ever? You Decide.

Help the KSL Sports team decide who the best college basketball to ever come out of the state of Utah is.

- Second-round voting will begin March 23 at Noon and end on March 25.
- Third-round voting will begin on March 26 and end on March 27.
- Quarterfinals voting will begin March 28 and end on March 29.
- Semifinals voting will begin and end on March 30.
- Championship voting will begin and end on March 31.
First Round Results
The first round is in books and as expected, the top two seeds have all advanced by a wide margin. BYU’s Jimmer Fredette and Danny Ainge along with Utah alums Andre Miller and Keith Van Horn will move on to the next round.
One of the four matchups among the No. 2 vs. No. 15 seeds came down to less 200 votes but former Ute Billy McGill was able to get past BYU big man Brandon Davies. The top six seeds have all advanced to the next round without any upsets.
The first upset happened with No. 10 seed Joel Bolomboy from Weber State beating BYU’s Mel Hutchins. Another No. 10 seed in Shawn Bradley beat fellow Cougar alum Jeff Chatman. Former Utah greats Josh Grant and Tom Chambers are moving on to the next round.
As expected, the No. 8 seeds vs. No. 9 seeds came down to the wire. No. 8 seed Vern Gardner knocked off No. 9 seed Nate Williams by 47 votes. Fred Roberts from BYU barely got past Weber State’s Jerrick Harding by 30 votes and former Cougar center Rafael Araujo upset No. 8 seed Mike Newlin by 61 votes.
