SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The new NFL league year will officially begin on Wednesday which will be the start of free agency. Starting on Monday, the “Tampering” period will begin where teams can contact free agents and negotiate deals.

Players who played college or high school football and are now in the NFL, 11 of them will be free agents during the off-season.

The full list of all free agents can be found, here.

Here are the locals who will begin the free agency process on Monday.

Former Utes

Devontae Booker, RB

Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Devontae Booker would not return to the Denver Broncos despite being a fourth round draft pick in 2016 to the franchise.

Last season, Booker was the third-string running back for the Broncos and ran the ball twice for nine yards. Booker finished his tenure with Denver with 289 carries for 1,103 yards and six touchdowns.

Tim Patrick, WR

The former Ute is an “exclusive rights” free agent which is a player with two or fewer seasons of service time and whose contract has expired.

Patrick played two seasons for the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. He hauled in 39 receptions for 533 yards and one touchdown. It is likely that Patrick will return to the Broncos.

Former Cougars

Michael Davis, CB

Davis is considered a restricted free agent which gives the Los Angeles Chargers an opportunity to match any offer from another team that was made to Davis.

Kyle Van Noy, LB

Van Noy is an unrestricted free agent after spending the last 4 seasons with the New England Patriots.

This past season, the former BYU linebacker recorded 41 solo tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. He helped the Patriots to a 12-4 record and an AFC East title.

Taysom Hill, QB

Hill is considered a restricted free agent which gives the New Orleans Saints an opportunity to match any offer from another team that was made to Hill.

The former Cougar only threw six passes during the season but ran the ball 27 times for 156 yards and a touchdown. He recorded 19 receptions for 234 yards and 6 touchdowns.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints have placed a first round tender on Hill, meaning that the Saints will have a chance to match any offer sheet he signs with another team or get back a first-round draft pick.

Former Aggies

Patrick Scales, LS

Scales has been the starting long snapper for the Chicago Bears four seasons of his five-year NFL career. He has appeared in 55 games.

Robert Turbin, RB

After a brief break between teams, Turbin signed with the Seattle Seahawks and appeared in one game for them in the playoffs. Turbin was drafted by the Seahawks in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.

Nick Vigil, LB

Vigil’s rookie contract has expired with the Cincinnati Bengals after being taken in the third round of the 2016 draft.

The former Aggie had his best season of his young NFL career this past year with the Bengals, racking up 111 tackles, including 12 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a sack.

Kyler Fackrell, LB

Fackrell wrapped up his fourth season with the Green Bay Packers. He was taken in the third round of the 2016 draft by Green Bay.

This past season, Fackrell 23 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and one sack.

Former Thunderbirds

LeShaun Sims, CB

The former Thunderbird finished his rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans after they selected Sims in the fifth round of the 2016 draft.

Sims recorded 35 tackles, one fumble recovery and two pass deflections.

Former High School Standouts

Xavier Su’a-Filo, OL

Former Timpview star Xavier Su’a-Filo finished his sixth NFL season. It was his second season with the Dallas Cowboys.

Su’a-Filo started in four of the 11 games played this past season and has appeared in 75 games with 53 starts in his NFL career.
