Yoeli Childs Passes Kyle Collinsworth To Become BYU’s All-Time Leading Rebounder

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – The greatest rebounder in BYU basketball history is now senior forward Yoeli Childs.
During Monday night’s WCC Tournament game against Saint Mary’s, Childs set the all-time record pulling down his 1,048th rebound at the 19:33 mark of the second half, passing the previous record-holder Kyle Collinsworth.

In his senior season at BYU, Childs, a first-team All-WCC selection, has established himself as one of the greatest players in BYU basketball history. Along with being number one in career rebounds, Childs is also sixth all-time in scoring at BYU behind only Tyler Haws, Jimmer Fredette, Danny Ainge, Michael Smith, and Devin Durrant. He’s also fifth in BYU history for blocked shots at 159.
Childs has averaged 22.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in his final season as a BYU Cougar, which has seen him miss 13 games due to suspension and injury. When Childs made the decision last May to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft, he did so because he wanted to do something special in his final year at BYU. He’s doing that by rising up the all-time record books in BYU history.
