Donovan Mitchell Throws Down Powerful Alley-Oop Dunk Against Knicks

NEW YORK, N. Y. – Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell threw down a thunderous alley-oop dunk in front of the crowd at Madison Square Garden during the first quarter of Utah’s game against the New York Knicks.

The Jazz and Knicks played each other on Wednesday, March 4.

Mitchell rose into the air and received a lob pass from Bojan Bogdanovic with both hands as he was flying towards the basket. The Jazz star moved the ball into his right hand, cocked his arm back, and threw down a ferocious dunk with New York’s Julius Randle and Elfrid Payton staring up at the highlight-reel play.

Mitchell’s jam gave Utah a 17-9 lead with 7:24 left in the first quarter.

After the dunk, Mitchell had 5 points on 2-5 field goals. He added 2 assists during his first 5 minutes on the court.

The assist was Bogdanovic’s first of the game. Bogdanovic had 9 points, 2 rebounds, and the alley-oop assist during his first 5 minutes of play.

The Jazz maintained their advantage throughout the next seven minutes of game time and took a 35-26 lead to the bench at the end of the first 12 minutes of play.

At the end of the opening quarter, Mitchell had 10 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists. He shot 3-7 on field goals and 4-4 on free throws.

Bogdanovic led the Jazz with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and a block during the first quarter. The Jazz forward shot 3-4 on field goals including 2-2 from beyond the arc.
