PROVO, Utah – BYU’s wild and crazy 2019 season had some highlight moments. Two of which were featured as two of the best games in college football this past season.
ESPN’s Bill Connelly is unveiling his Top 100 games from the 2019 college football season and two games featuring BYU made the early cut.
Both of BYU’s wins against Tennessee and USC in consecutive weeks were ranked as the Nos. 93 and 92 best games, with the win at Rocky Top getting a slight edge.

It took overtime for BYU to come away victorious in both of these games. Individual performances from quarterback Zach Wilson, running back Ty’Son Williams, wide receiver Micah Simon, and a handful of linebackers gave BYU wins over a pair of teams that finished with 8-5 records.
Connelly will release the rest of his Top 100 on ESPN.com, but my guess is that no other BYU game is going to make this Top 100. Maybe, the Hawaii Bowl, but Cougar fans don’t want to keep that one in their memories like wins against two of college football’s most historic programs.

BYU doesn’t face Tennessee or USC in 2020, but more games are scheduled between the programs in future years. Tennessee makes a return trip to Provo in 2023. BYU travels to Los Angeles for a pair of games in 2021 and 2023.
For the second year in a row, BYU finished the 2019 season with a 7-6 record and ended their season with a Hawaii Bowl loss to Hawaii to cap off the year.
