SALT LAKE CITY – Seattle Seahawks defensive end Ziggy Ansah has quite the custom collection of cleats he wears in games.
The former BYU star was wearing Star Wars-inspired cleats in Seattle’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs. The cleats feature Yoda, not baby Yoda, but the fully grown Jedi master.
Ziggy’s cleats were custom made by Andrew Lewis an artist from Las Vegas. Along with having Yoda on the cleats, the inside of Ziggy’s game-worn kicks also says, “The Twelfth is Strong With This One.” A tip of the cap to Seahawk fans who make up “The 12th man.”
Throughout the years, Ansah has worn other custom cleats in games, made by Lewis. He had a pair earlier in the season that featured the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and another set honoring his native country of Ghana.
This is Ansah’s first season with the Seattle Seahawks after six years with the Detroit Lions. Ziggy was the number five overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft to the Lions and has recorded 50.5 sacks in his seven years in the NFL, with 2.5 of those coming this season in Seattle.
