Fred Warner Helps Stops Seahawks TE Short Of Goal Line To Clinch Niners Win

SEATTLE, Wash. – San Francisco linebacker stopped Seattle Seahawks tight end Jacob Hollister inches short of the end zone to secure a win for the 49ers.
Warner’s stop secured the Niners a 26-21 win over the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, December 29.
The 49ers linebacker teamed up with San Francisco’s Dre Greenlaw to halt Hollister’s progress short of the goal line on 4th & Goal after a 4-yard reception from Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson. Officials reviewed the play and ruled that the Seahawks were shy of the yardage needed for the go-ahead score. With Warner’s stop, the 49ers regained possession with nine seconds left. On their next play, the Niners ran a quarterback sneak to run out the clock.

San Francisco secured the NFC West Divison title, the NFC’s No. 1 seed, and home field throughout the NFC playoffs.
Warner finished the game with 3 tackles and a quarterback hit.

On Seattle’s final drive, former Cedar City and Westlake High School receiver John Ursua had an 11-yard catch in the red zone.

San Francisco finished the regular season 13-3 and claimed its first division title since 2012. Seattle closed the regular season 11-5.
The Niners have a first round bye. Their next game will take place in the Division Round on Saturday, January 11 at 2:35 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on KSL TV.
