Timmy Allen Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Utes sophomore forward Timmy Allen has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week after his two performances last week.
It’s the second time this season that Allen has been named Conference Player of the Week. His first honor was two weeks ago.
The Utes went 1-1 last week after facing two teams that were ranked in the Top 20.

In Utah’s upset win over then-No. 6 Kentucky on Wednesday night, Allen scored a game-high 25 points, including the clutch shot to give the Utes the lead back late in the game. He also had 9 rebounds and 4 assists, while shooting 8-15 from the floor and 9-12 from the free throw line. The Utes beat the Wildcats, 69-66 in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Their next game was on Saturday in Los Angeles at Staples Center against then-No. 20 San Diego State as a part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. Allen scored a game-high 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists, shooting 6-14 from the field and 3-5 from downtown. The Utes lost to the Aztecs, 80-52.
Utah ended the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 9-3 record. They will begin Pac-12 play at home on Thursday, January 2 against the Oregon State Beavers. Tip-off from the Jon M. Huntsman Center is at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
