Utes Move Into Top 5 Of AP Poll After Win Over CU, Alabama Loss

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes moved in the top five in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll following their victory over Colorado and Alabama’s loss to Auburn.

The Utes moved up one spot from No. 6 and replaced the Crimson Tide at No. 5 in the poll released on Sunday, December 1. Alabama dropped four spots to No. 9 in the poll.

It’s the highest ranking in the poll for Utah this season and the team’s highest ranking since 2015 when they were No. 3.

In the Coaches Poll, the Utes moved up one spot to No. 5.

The College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on ESPN.

Utah improved to 11-1 overall and 8-1 in Pac-12 play with the win over Colorado. The victory also clinched Utah the Pac-12 South for the second year in a row and secured themselves a spot in the Pac-12 Championship game.

The Utes will face the Pac-12 North champion Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 title game on Friday, December 6. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ABC.
