Boise State Pulls ‘Statue Of Liberty’ Play Out Of Its Bag Of Tricks Against USU

LOGAN, Utah – The Boise State Broncos pulled out their bag of tricks against Utah State and ran a “Statue of Liberty” play to extend their lead over the Aggies.
The trick play put the Broncos up on the Aggies 21-7 with 1:20 left in the first quarter of the Mountain West Conference showdown on Saturday, November 23.
Broncos quarterback Jaylon Henderson faked a pass to the right and handed the ball off behind his back to running back George Holani who ran left five yards and into the end zone for the Boise State touchdown.

The Broncos are well known for their trick plays and most famously the “Statue of Liberty” play.

Boise State set the college football world on fire in 2007 when they ran the trick play against powerhouse Oklahoma to upset the Sooners in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Broncos held a 21-0 lead over the Aggies at the end of the first quarter.
Boise State entered the game ranked No. 20 in the College Football Playoff rankings with a 9-1 (6-0 MWC) record. The Aggies entered with a record of 6-4 (5-1 MWC).
