USU’s Munoz Honored MWC Defensive Player Of Week

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State linebacker Eric Munoz was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness following a career day against the Wyoming Cowboys.
Munoz’s player of the week performance led the Aggies to a 26-21 win over the Cowboys on November 16.
The junior linebacker recorded a career-high 13 tackles in the victory.
After the game, Munoz was emotional while discussing what the game meant to him.

In addition to his career number of tackles, Munoz posted two interceptions of Wyoming QB Tyler Vander Waal including one that clinched the Aggie win with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter.
Munoz also added 0.5 tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry.
Prior to the Wyoming game, Munoz had only appeared in seven games for the Aggies. The 26-21 win was only his fourth game played this season.

USU hosts the No. 19 Boise State Broncos on November 23 at 8:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and 1280 AM.
