Finau joins Patrick Reed, Gary Woodland and Woods as captain’s picks. The additions bring the United States’ Presidents Cup team to 12 members. The previous eight members were chosen previously.
Finau’s 2019 Season
Finau made the cut thanks to a strong 2019 PGA Tour season that featured six top-10 finishes and a third straight appearance in the TOUR Championship.
Finau’s best finish came at the Shiners Hospitals for Children Open, where he tied for 9th place. His play in the tournament was highlighted by a low of 62 in the third round.
This is Finau’s first ever Presidents Cup nod. He previously played in the 2018 Ryder Cup, finishing the tournament with a 2-1 record.
The 2019 Presidents Cup starts on Thursday, December 12 in Melbourne, Australia. The tournament will air on The Golf Channel, with weekend broadcasts on KSL-TV.
