SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Mike Conley and Jeff Green may not have led the Jazz in scoring or rebounds but they did lead this team in hustle in Utah’s 106-104 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

Conley would have received the first half hustle award at the expense of a former Jazzman.

Raul Neto received an outlet and was streaking down the court for a left-handed layup. Conley caught up quickly and the ball never made it out of Neto’s hands.

The crowd went crazy and momentarily kept the Sixers from taking a 6 point lead in the 2nd quarter.

That play and the fans’ reaction seemed to bring Utah to life. The Jazz outscored Philly 18-10 the rest of the half.

Jazz supporters were just as appreciative of Jeff Green right near the end of the 3rd quarter.

Utah looked like they would turn the ball over when both Joe Ingles and George Niang collided going for a ball as it was heading out of bounds near the scorer’s table. The ball was saved right to Sixers guard Josh Richardson.

Richardson took his time going to the basket and was ready to throw it down with both hands. He never got a chance as Jeff Green came out of nowhere and blocked the shot out of bounds. Green was also whistled for the foul.

Boos reigned down from the fans as they watched the replay on the big screen and got even louder as Richardson sank both of his free throws. The fans were cheering again 22-seconds later when Joe Ingles hit a shot right before the buzzer sounded to give Utah an 85-73 lead at the end of the 3rd.

Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic were the Jazz’s two leading scorers with 24 and 20 points apiece. Mitchell also had 8 assists in the game.

Mitchell started his scoring spurt with his mid-range madness.

With Philly up 9-2, Mitchell nailed 3 straight mid-range jumpers and also made a beautiful drive, hesitation and then lay-up over Joel Embiid.

Bogdanovic picked up the scoring in the 2nd quarter, scoring 11 of his 15 first half points in that period.  Bogdanovic’s also scored Utah’s last 3-pointer of the game to give the Jazz just enough cushion to outlast the Sixers.

Joel Embiid scored 27 points but was only 5-16 from the field thanks to Rudy Gobert’s defense.  Richardson had 24 points. Sixers guard Ben Simmons only played just over 10-minutes and then left the game with right shoulder soreness.

Gobert had 14 points, 16 rebounds and Conley ended up with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Each had a blocked shot.

Conley’s shot may have meant a little bit more.
