Sitake On Injured Jaren Hall: ‘His Life Is All That Matters To Me Right Now’

PROVO, Utah – BYU redshirt freshman Jaren Hall suffered a concussion for the second time in as many starts this past Saturday against Utah State.
There was no new updates provided on Hall’s availability this week when BYU takes on 6-3 Liberty this Saturday in Provo. But the focus now for head coach Kalani Sitake and his staff is Hall’s health.
Kalani said he believes Jaren Hall got injured on the 7-yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter against Utah State.

“I think I said this in the postgame is that I want him to be healthy and his life is all that matters to me right now,” said Sitake on Monday during his weekly press conference.
Back on October 12th, Hall suffered a hard hit to the turf in BYU’s loss at USF. That hit forced Hall to leave the game against USF early and then miss the Cougars win against Boise State the following week.
During the bye week following BYU’s win over Boise State, Hall was cleared from the concussion protocol and allowed to return back to practice. He was named the starter against Utah State and the Cougar offense was thriving in the first half with Hall leading the way.

In two starts, Hall passed for 357 yards and ran for an additional 137 yards and accounted for four touchdowns in those two games (3 rush, 1 pass).
“We have a really good medical staff and I trust them with the mindset that we’ll take care of Jaren first,” said Sitake.
