SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Following Utah’s 33-28 win over the Washington Huskies on Saturday, quarterback Tyler Huntley was interviewed by the national television broadcast after a spectacular performance.

After the interview, a person on Twitter who claims to be a fan of the Utes sent out a tweet that was disrespectful towards Huntley.

Saturday evening and into Sunday, Utah players and coaches and even BYU coaches have responded to the tweet, defending Huntley.

Somebody with the Twitter handle @JT_Vaughan tweeted out “letting Tyler Huntley do a post game interview on national television is not a good look for the quality of a Utah education.”

*Note: Since the story published, the user on Twitter changed his profile picture to a BYU logo and deleted his bio on his page. After that, he deleted his entire Twitter account.

Huntley’s performance earned him the opportunity to be interviewed after the game. He completed 19 of his 24 pass attempts for 284 yards and one touchdown. Huntley also ran in a one-yard touchdown that gave Utah the lead in the fourth quarter.

The senior quarterback shrugged off the tweet from Vaughan with a lot of laughing emoji’s.

Huntley’s mother, Regina responded to the user telling him that interview’s are not her son’s thing but that his words and actions on and off the field speak for itself. Also, that he has been an honor student in elementary, middle school, high school and college.

Since the tweet from @JT_Vaughan was sent out, many coaches, teammates and alumni of Huntley’s responded to the tweet to let him know the kind of person that the Utah star quarterback is.

Utah wide receivers coach Guy Holliday:

Utes wide receiver Britain Covey mentioned Huntley’s accolades on the field and in the classroom.

Former Utah great and current Los Angeles Rams safety Eric Weddle responded to Covey’s tweet.

Former Utes linebacker Tommy Hackenbruck:

Former Utah offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick, who is currently a co-offensive coordinator at BYU sent out a tweet with some high praise for Huntley.

Roderick was on Utah’s coaching staff from 2010-16.

BYU offensive line coach Eric Mateos, who is also a South Florida native, responded to the tweet by @JT_Vaughan.
