Utah Royals Star Wins Fourth Defensive Player Of The Year Award

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Royals star Becky Sauerbrunn is the National Women’s Soccer League defender of the year.
This is the fourth time in her career Sauerbrunn received this award.
As it stands, she is the most decorated player in the NWSL with 11 end-of-season honors throughout her career.

Last week, she was selected to the “Best XI Team” of the NWSL.
Last season with the Royals, Sauerbrunn played in 14 games. She is a big reason the team achieved the second-fewest goals allowed with 25.

Sauerbrunn was a member of the world champion US Women’s National Team alongside teammates Christen Press and Kellie O’Hara.
She played in all but one match of the World Cup.
