Cedar Valley Tops Canyon View In First Round Of Playoffs

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Cedar Valley had a great performance by quarterback Jaxson Hooley, who threw six touchdown passes in their 40-19 win over Canyon View in the first round of the 4A high school football playoffs.
Cedar Valley dropped 21 straight points in the first quarter and capped off the final period with 19 points. Hooley found both Joshua Hardie and Parker Christensen for two scores each.
Cedar Valley will play #2 Sky View next Friday.
Here is all of the results from the 4A classification in first round action of the High School Football Playoffs:
#1 Park City, #2 Sky View, #3 Dixie, #4 Green Canyon, #5 Pine View, #6 Stansbury, #7 Mountain View, #8 Desert Hills, #9 Snow Canyon and #10 Tooele all received a first round bye.
#22 Uintah 6 at #11 Mountain Crest 71
Mountain Crest scored 37 points in the first quarter to cruise to a dominating win over Uintah. Taden Burbank had two passing touchdowns, while four different players ran in touchdowns.
Mountain Crest will play #6 Stansbury next Friday.
#21 Ben Lomond 0 at #12 Bear River 31
The Bears scored 28 of their 31 points in the fourth quarter to get the shutout win. Ben Fonnesbeck found Colt Lish for the only touchdown through the air. Chance Udy had two touchdowns on the ground with Derek Dean adding one score.
Bear River will face #5 Pine View next Friday.
#20 Crimson Cliffs 19 at #13 Cedar City 21
Crimson Cliffs had a 12-7 first quarter lead before Cedar City outscored Crimson Cliffs 14-7 in the second quarter to get the win. Jaron Garrett had two touchdown passes, finding Kolbe Meek twice. Chase Hansen had one rushing and one passing touchdown for Crimson Cliffs.
Cedar City will play #4 Green Canyon next Friday.
#17 Ogden 27 at #16 Logan 62
Logan scored 49 points in the first half, limiting Ogden to just seven. Ethan Wilson had two passing touchdowns, finding Isaac Larsen twice. Kade Thornley ran in three rushing touchdowns for Logan.
Logan will face #1 Park City next Friday.
