Bradlee Anae Named Chuck Bednarik Award Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah defensive end Bradlee Anae has been named the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week after his performance in the Utes win over the Arizona State Sun Devils.
The Chuck Bednarik Award is given each year to the best defensive player in college football.
Anae was also named Pac-12 Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman of the Week.

He picked up three sacks and had a pass deflection in Utah’s 21-3 win over the Arizona State Sun Devils. Anae has seven sacks on the season, which ranks second in the Pac-12 behind Oregon State’s Hamilcar Rashed, who has nine sacks.
He has 24 career sacks and is ranked third among active players in the FBS and is in seventh place in school history. Utah’s defense as a whole held the Sun Devils to 136 yards of total offense (25 passing, 111 rushing) and snapped a 125-game streak of scoring 10 points or more in a game as well as a 140-game streak of scoring at least seven points in a game.
Utah will face the Cal Bears on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will be televised on FS1.
