SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After a 21-3 win over Arizona State in a very physical football game, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham said that none of his players suffered season-ending injuries.

Whittingham didn’t elaborate on the extend of injuries and never does unless the player will miss the remainder of the season.

One of the injuries that happened against Arizona State was quarterback Tyler Huntley leaving the game twice.

“A lot of times, you don’t know about these injuries until tomorrow (Sunday), this is one of them,” Whittingham said after the game on Saturday. “This is one that we will have to wait and see how he responds and see what it looks like tomorrow.”

During his weekly press conference, Whittingham said that none of his players, including Huntley suffered a season-ending injury.

“As far as the injuries in the game, none were season-ending,” Whittingham stated. “That’s the only statement that we will have about that, which is good news for us.”

Huntley left in the second quarter when he was tackled awkwardly by a Arizona State defender. He returned on the same drive to help Utah score a touchdown. Late in the third quarter, he was hit again and the Utes coaching staff shut him down for the rest of the game.

“He took another hit in the same leg on that third down, pass interference call when he got the ball out of his hands,” Whittingham said after the game. “So, we shut him down at that point for good, but the medical staff cleared him to go back in after the initial injury (second quarter).”

Another player in question is starting left tackle Darrin Paulo.

The Utes will host the Cal Bears on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will begin at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1.
