LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies used their rushing attack to get the 36-10 win over the Nevada Wolf Pack, picking up their 10th straight win at Maverik Stadium.

Utah State had 244 rushing yards as a team, led by Gerold Bright with 126 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns. He averaged 8.4 yards per attempt.

Jaylen Warren returned from injury and posted 73 yards on the ground. Former BYU running back Riley Burt had his best game as an Aggie with 4 carries for 33 yards.

Aggies star quarterback Jordan Love struggled, passing for 169 yards on 13-of-31 attempts, one touchdown and one interception but it didn’t matter as the running game took over for USU. Two key players, who suffered injuries two weeks ago against LSU returned to the lineup in wide receiver Siaosi Mariner and tight end Caleb Repp. Mariner hauled in two catches for 53 yards, while Repp caught Love’s only touchdown to go with one catch for 13 yards.

Utah State’s Savon Scarver took Nevada’s first kickoff of the game 100 yards for the touchdown, setting a school record with five career kickoff returns for touchdowns.

Utah State’s defense had another outstanding performance as a group, holding Nevada to 326 yards but also forcing two turnovers as both Shaq Bond and Kevin Meitzenheimer had interceptions. Nevada scored first before the Aggies rattled off 36 unanswered points. The Wolf Pack their only touchdown late when the game was already decided.

USU’s defense was led by star linebacker David Woodward, who had 11 total tackles and 2 pass breakups. They held Nevada quarterback and junior college transfer Malik Henry to 213yards on 17-of-38 passing and two interceptions. He was also sacked three times.

Utah State improved their record to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in Mountain West Conference play. They will be on the road on Saturday, October 26 to face Air Force, who is 4-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The game will begin at 8:15 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.
