Eight Locals Named To XFL Draft Pool

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The XFL announced the first group of players that have entered the draft pool. Eight players have ties to the state of Utah.

The league will launch for the second time in 2020. They previously played one season in 2001. The XFL is owned by WWE and Alpha Entertainment’s Vince McMahon with Oliver Luck serving as the league commissioner.

The XFL will hold their draft on October 15 and 16.

Here are the locals that have their names in the draft pool:

Former Utes

Jordan Agasiva, Offensive Tackle

Agasiva played two season for the Utes in 2017 and 2018 after transferring from Pima Community College. He was on the Jacksonville Jaguars training camp roster this past off-season but was later cut by the team.

Kavika Luafatasaga, Linebacker

The former linebacker played two seasons for the Utes in 2016 and 2017 as a transfer from Arizona Western College.

Sealver Siliga, Defensive Tackle

Siliga is from Copper Hills High School and played 37 games for the Utes in three years. He later went on to the NFL and had stints with the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Siliga played in Super Bowl XLIX with the New England Patriots when they beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24.

Former Cougars

Micah Hannemann, Safety

The Lone Peak product played at BYU in 2012 as well as 2015-17 at safety. He had training camp stints with the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers.

Tuni Kanuch, Offensive Guard

Kanuch prepped at Bingham High School and spent four seasons with BYU from 2013-17.

Handsome Tanielu, Defensive Tackle

Tanielu transferred to BYU from Snow College and spent two seasons with the Cougars from 2016-17.

Jake Heaps, Quarterback

Heaps started his college career with BYU before transferring to Kansas and Miami. He spent some time in the NFL with the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks.

Former Thunderbirds

Raysean Pringle, Cornerback

Pringle played for Southern Utah from 2013-16 as a running back and wide receiver. He spent time in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.
