After Missing Game Winner, Matt Gay Vows To Attack Problems

TAMPA BAY, Florida – Former University of Utah standout kicker and now Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Matt Gay, is looking to bounce back after missing a potential game winning 34 yard field goal with 4 seconds left on the clock a week ago against the New York Giants.
Gay, who hit on field goals of 47, 27, 52 and 23 yards had an opportunity to give the Buccaneers their second win of the season last week against the Giants. Instead, he pushed the ball one foot past the right upright.
During that same game, Gay also missed 2 extra points. The Buccaneers lost 32-31.

This week, however, he has a chance to bounce back.
“The fact that I have support from my teammates and my coach means everything,” Gay said during a post-practice interview this week.
Gay has had the support of many of his peers, including long-time NFL kicker Robbie Gould, who called Gay after the loss to the Giants to offer support and guidance.

The Bucs go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
Gay will encounter former Utes Eric Weddle and Domonique Hatfield.
