Jonsdottir Buries 1st Goal Of Season In Royals 2-1 Loss

HOUSTON, Texas – Gunnhildur Jonsdottir buried her first goal of the season in Utah Royals FC’s loss to the Houston Dash on Friday night.
Jonsdottir’s goal ruined a Dash shutout when she drilled a shot into the top right of the net in the 75th minute of play.
The midfielder’s goal was her first of the 2019 season.

In 2018, Jonsdottir scored the first goal in franchise history in the third minute against the Orlando Pride. She was selected for NWSL Team of the Month in March 2018.
The Royals’ comeback stalled in the final minutes of the second half and they fell to the Dash 2-1.

The team’s next game will be against the Seattle Reign on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. (MDT).
The Royals and Dash will have a rematch in the final match of the regular season. That game will be at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. (MDT).
