MOUNT PLEASANT, Utah – Wasatch Academy star center Mady Sissoko is the highest-rated college basketball recruit from the state of Utah in the class of 2020.

On Tuesday night, he made it official where he would be attending college and continuing his basketball career.

At the Wasatch Academy gymnasium, Sissoko, the 6’10” center with a 7’4″ wingspan announced his commitment to play for legendary head coach Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.

The Spartans have been a strong leader to land Sissoko since they offered the talented Wasatch Academy star back in May.

This past weekend, Sissoko took his fifth and final official visit to East Lansing to see Izzo’s program firsthand and also take in a Spartan football game. It was there that it became clear the Spartans were the place for him.

Sissoko moved to Utah and the Wasatch Academy campus from Bafoulabé, Mali, West Africa where he was born and raised.

Along with playing at Wasatch Academy, Sissoko also plays for Jimmer Elite in the AAU circuit which is coached by former BYU basketball players Marty Haws and Kevin Nixon.

Sissoko marks the first time a player from the state of Utah has committed to the Michigan State basketball program since Tom Izzo has been the head coach of the Spartans.
