Emery Tweets Apology, Says He’s ‘Super Sorry;’ Has ‘Some Things To Work Out’

PROVO, Utah – On Saturday morning, former BYU basketball player, Nick Emery tweeted an apology to “Cougar Nation” for a negative message about the Cougars’ coaching staff in a tweet he posted Friday night.
Emery tweeted at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday that he was “Super Sorry” and that he has “some things to work out to get to a peaceful place again.” The following up tweet came after a message he sent out on Friday evening that disparaged the new men’s basketball staff in Provo.
The former Cougar guard posted on Saturday, “Twitter, I was hacked by Antonio Brown last night. Super sorry. Kidding.. In reality, I just love basketball and I have some things to work out to get to a peaceful place again. I’ll grow up. Thanks for holding me accountable, it’s working. Much love to cougar nation.”

Emery’s apology came after he directing a message to a BYU basketball recruiting prospect where he took a shot at BYU head coach Mark Pope and his staff.

Emery sent out a tweet at 10:40 p.m. Friday responding to a Wasatch Academy Basketball tweet regarding BYU prospect, Mady Sissoko, and his college recruitment.
Emery’s tweet from Friday has been deleted.
“Honest tweet – you would be playing with some of the greatest dudes and have great teammates at BYU.. but playing for those coaches would be an absolute disaster. They are not what they portray and are super sketchy and dishonest! Good luck with the decision bro.”
