BYU Basketball’s Zac Seljaas To Have Surgery On Broken Foot

PROVO, Utah – The BYU basketball team is currently in the middle of a foreign tour in Italy, but they are wrapping up their trip without one of their upperclassmen.
Senior Zac Seljaas broke his foot in the Cougars second game of BYU’s Italy trip causing him to be sent home from the tour.
BYU Basketball head coach Mark Pope confirmed that Seljaas broke his foot. Seljaas is expected to have surgery on his broken foot on Friday in Provo.

The Cougars wrap up their four-game tour in Italy on Friday against LCC International.
BYU Hoops Personnel for 2019-20 season
According to a report from Vanquish the Foe, Seljaas is expected to miss 10-12 weeks which would cause him to miss the first handful of weeks in the season this November. BYU is already without star forward Yoeli Childs for the first nine games of this upcoming season.
If Seljaas isn’t healthy and ready to go for the season opener, BYU would have only eight scholarship players on their roster that are available to play.
Mark Pope and his staff are still waiting on a decision from the NCAA if Utah Valley University transfers Wyatt Lowell and Richard Harward will be cleared to play this season.

Along with the eight scholarship players, BYU also has two walk-ons in Colby Leifson and Blaze Nield that can pick up minutes in the rotation early in the season.
BYU will open the 2019-20 season against Cal State Fullerton on November 5th in the Marriott Center.
