Mitchell, Kuzma Stand Out In Team USA Scrimmage

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and former Ute and current Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma played well in the scrimmage for Team USA.
It was the first time that the players played in an actual game after holding practice this week in Las Vegas.
The players competing for a roster for the FIBA World Cup of basketball faced the Team USA select squad that consists of young NBA players.
The senior players were on the blue team with the select team wearing white.
The Blue team beat the White team 97-78.
Mitchell played nearly 17 minutes and posted 8 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal, while shooting 3-for-7 from the field and 1-of-3 from the three-point line.
Kuzma had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist on 3-for-4 shooting from the field and 1-of-1 from downtown in 10 minutes of play. He also had a nice dunk.

Leading the Blue team was Jayson Tatum with 17 points, Kemba Walker added 14 and De’Aaron Fox scored 12.
For the select team Derrick White and John Collins each had 12 points and Jonathan Isaac chipped in 11 points.
Following the game, Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich cut Thaddeus Young and Bam Adebayo and picked up Marvin Bagley III and Derrick White.
Team USA will move their training camp to Los Angeles and will face Spain in an exhibition game on August 16 at 7 p.m.
