Reports: Utah LB Manny Bowen Leaving Football Program

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to multiple outlets via social media, Utah graduate transfer linebacker Manny Bowen has decided to leave the program.
The news comes just before the beginning of fall camp for the Utes.
He was expected to start at linebacker alongside Francis Bernard.

Bowen joined the Utah program with one year of eligibility remaining after transferring from Penn State.
With the Nittany Lions, Bowen played 35 games and started 21 contests. He racked up 134 tackles, including 12.5 for a loss and 3.5 sacks to go with his three pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Redshirt sophomore Devin Lloyd is expected to start in place of Bowen. Stanford transfer Sione Lund, junior college transfer Trennan Carlson and Andrew Mata’afa will likely serve as backups for the linebackers.
