SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Thirty-five members of the media who closely cover Pac-12 Football picked Utah to be the Pac-12 Champions at the end of the upcoming season. The poll has gotten the pick correct about half of the time over that last few years.

Since Utah joined the Pac-12 the poll has correctly picked the champion four of eight times. Three of the eight times the media’s pick did not even make it to the title game.

The committee cast their votes at Pac-12 Media last week in Hollywood, California.

The poll heavily favored Utah to capture the Pac-12 South with 206 points over USC with 167 points.

Last season this same poll predicted  Washington to win the Pac-12 and they were correct. The University of Washington defeated the Utes in one of Utah’s worst offensive games of the season that ended with a score of 10-3.
