Angels Honor Tyler Skaggs With Memorable Performance

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Angels honored pitcher Tyler Skaggs, who passed away on July 1. They played an unbelievable game where they beat the Seattle Mariners 13-0.
They started the tribute by having Skaggs’ mother throw out the first pitch.
Every wore No. 45 with Skaggs on the back of their jersey’s.
Mike Trout added to the incredible evening by hitting a home run on the first pitch that traveled 454 yards, Skaggs wore No. 45.

When the game ended, they had a combined no-hitter with Taylor Cole and Felix Pena combining for the “no-no.”
It was the 11th No-Hitter in franchise history, in high school, Skaggs wore No. 11.
The Angels scored seven runs in the first inning and 13 total. That makes it special because Skaggs’ birthday is on 7/13 (Saturday).

After the game, every player put their jersey on the mound that had the No. 45 painted on it.

Skaggs died in his hotel room in Texas on July 1. A release from the Southlake Police Department stated that foul play wasn’t suspected.
This season, Skaggs had a 7-7 record with a 4.29 ERA, 78 strikeouts, 1.268 WHIP in 79.2 innings pitched.
He spent time with both the Orem Owlz and the Salt Lake Bees.
