Jazz Assistant Leaves For Head Coaching Job In Spain

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder will need to fill another season the bench for the upcoming season.
It was announced on Wednesday that Jazz assistant coach Fotis Katsikaris would be leaving Utah to take the top job with Spanish League club Gran Canaria.
Katsikaris, who spent just one year with on Snyder’s staff, is the latest Jazz coach to head to a different organization. Last week, it was reported that Antonio Lang was headed to join the Cleveland Cavaliers, who had just hired former University of Michigan coach John Beilein as their head coach.
A native of Greece, Katsikaris has vast experience coaching in Europe and Asia. The 2018-19 season with Utah was his first on the bench in the NBA.

The Jazz coaching staff, led by Snyder, currently consists of two former University of Utah stars in Alex Jensen and Johnnie Bryant as well as Mike Wells, according to UtahJazz.com. Zach Guthrie, Lamar Skeeter, Jeff Watkinson, former Jazzman Raul Lopez and Sagana Diop also serve in coaching roles for Utah.
