PORTLAND, Ore. – The Utah Royals kept the Portland Thorns off the scoreboard early with a great save by goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart.
In the seventh minute, Portland’s Midge Purce booted a left footed shot from the right side of the box that seemed destined for twine. However, Barnhart made a solid diving save to knock the ball away from danger.
Barnhart has been stellar this season. In seven games, she’s allowed just five goals and has made 20 saves.
