Warriors’ Lance Williams Named To Rugby Dream Team

HERRIMAN, Utah – The Utah Warriors had a disappointing 2018-19 season but were able to have one player honored by a Major League Rugby publication.
Loose forward Lance Williams was named to the league’s 15-man Dream Team, in large part to his tremendous durability.
Of Williams, the American Rugby News website glowed when explaining his nomination to the team.
“The immense work rate of Williams was impossible to ignore. He somehow started every game and played 92% of all possible minutes, which would have been even higher were it not for three yellow cards. Only a half-dozen forwards across the league appeared more frequently. The ubiquitous Williams ran himself into the ground and had to be carried off when replaced. An exemplary Warrior,” said the article on ARN.
Despite Williams’ efforts, the Warriors finished eighth in the nine-team league with a record of 2-12-2. The team announced earlier this week that they had moved on from their head coach Alf Daniels.
