SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz held their final pre-draft workout ahead of the 2019 NBA Draft on Saturday.

Among the participants was former Weber State center/forward Brekkott Chapman, who reportedly had a strong showing in front of Jazz brass, including the team’s vice president of player personnel, Walt Perrin.

“I haven’t seen him play probably since he left Utah,” said Perrin after Chapman’s workout. “So, I got a chance to see him up close and personal and I was impressed with the way he played today. He showed cases of the ability to create off the dribble, he knocked down some shots in our drills, showed some explosiveness going to the basket. So, it was enlightening for me.”

The Jazz held two sessions of workouts for 12 players on Saturday. Another interesting name among the group was Terry Harris, a wingman from North Carolina A&T, who is the brother of Tobias Harris, who has been rumored to be a free agent target for Utah this summer.

In wrapping up the final workout session of the team’s predraft process, Perrin said he was impressed with the overall level of talent that the team has brought in for auditions. While this year’s draft is generally considered to be very top-heavy, headlined by presumptive No. 1 pick Zion Williamson, Perrin stated that he thinks there will be some good players available even into the second round.

“I thought at the beginning of the year, it wouldn’t be a very good draft. I think I’m going to be proven wrong on that one,” said Perrin.

For the most part, Perrin has been pleased about which players the Jazz were able to take a close look at during the process. The team has seen some likely first rounders in Stanford’s KZ Okpala, Tennessee’s Grant Williams and Arizona State’s Luguentz Dortz, who worked out on Saturday.

“There’s probably some guys who will slide in the draft that we didn’t get in that we thought we should have gotten,” acknowledged Perrin. “But for the most part, I thought we got in players who we wanted to get in.”

The NBA Draft will take place on June 20 at 5 p.m. from Chicago. The event will be shown on ESPN.

The Jazz hold the 23rd and 53rd overall picks in the draft.
