Originally, former Nebraska governor and senator Bob Kerrey was going to deliver the commencement address, but some Republicans opposed Kerrey because of his position in favor of abortion rights. That led to the University to go with their former basketball star.
During his four years at Creighton, Korver has his No. 25 jersey retired by the school, he was a two-time first team All-MVC and was the conference Player of the Year twice.
He finished his college career fourth all-time in scoring with 1,801 points and first in three-pointers made with 371.
Korver finished his 16th season in the NBA in his second stint with the Utah Jazz, averaging 9.1 points per game.
The Creighton alum was drafted in the second round in the 2003 NBA Draft.
