CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Carolina Panthers announced that four players will be inducted into the organization’s Hall of Honor, two of them are from the University of Utah.
Steve Smith and Jordan Gross will join Jake Delhomme and Wesley Walls in the Hall of Honor.
“This is long overdue,” said new Panthers owner David Tepper. “We have a great class for this year’s Hall of Honor inductio, and I couldn’t be more excited about these four players.

The Panthers expanded the Hall of Honor after having just one player in the hall for their 25-year existence. The induction ceremony will take place during a game this season. The players’ names will be displayed in the upper bowl of Bank of America Stadium and they have been fitted for bronze busts and blue jackets.
“There are few things in life that make me emotional to where I want to tear up,” Smith said after he was notified of the honor. “But it’s good to be back,” he added.
Smith spent 13 seasons with the Panthers from 2001-13 before playing his last three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He is a five time Pro Bowler, two time First Team All-Pro and is eighth All-Time in NFL history for most receiving yards at 14,731.
Gross spent all 10 of his NFL seasons with the Panthers. He is a three time Pro Bowler and was named First Team All-Pro in 2008.
