BYU’s Shaylee Gonzales To Try Out For U-19 World Cup Squad

PROVO, Utah – BYU sophomore guard Shaylee Gonzales has been invited to participate in the World Cup team trials for the USA Women’s under-19 team.
As a freshman for the Cougars, Gonzales averaged 17 points with 4.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game.
She was a vital member of BYU’s NCAA tournament team which beat Auburn in the first round of the tournament before falling to Stanford in the second round. The Cougars also won the WCC tournament championship with a thrilling upset of Gonzaga in the title game.

If Gonzales makes the national team, she’ll be part of a group that will compete for the U-19 World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand from July 20-28.
