Harden Struggles In First Quarter… Again

HOUSTON, Texas – The first quarter of Game 5 between the Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets, James Harden looks to have a similar performance from Game 3 in Salt Lake City.
The game was tied at 20 after the opening quarter and Harden played 9 minutes while being held scoreless on 0-for-6 shooting from the field and 0-of-3 from downtown. In Game 3 on Saturday, Harden was 0-for-5 and went on to miss his first 15 field goal attempts before making his first shot in the fourth quarter.
The Jazz didn’t play much better than the Rockets in the first quarter of Game 5, shooting 6-of-20 from the field. Houston made 7-of-19 of their field goals.
In Game 3, Harden finished the game with 22 points, hitting 3-for-20 from the field and 14 points coming from the free-throw line.

Harden took home the scoring title during the regular season, averaging 36.1 points per game. He entered Game 5, averaging 28.3 points and 37 percent shooting from the field in the series.
