SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The NBA regular season is approaching its end and the eight playoff teams have already been decided. Two teams, the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets have clinched their respective divisions while all eight teams remain jostling for position.

Here’s a look at how the playoff race currently stacks up and what’s next on the slate for each team:

1. Golden State Warriors (53-24)

Next up: at Los Angeles Lakers, Thursday

2. Denver Nuggets (51-26)

Next up: vs. San Antonio Spurs, Wednesday

This game is a preview of what could be a first-round playoff series. The Spurs have the series advantage so far this season against the Nuggets winning two of three games. The Nuggets are coming off of a 14-point loss to Golden State on Tuesday while the Spurs took care of business against Atlanta, also on Tuesday.

3. Houston Rockets (50-28)

Next up: at LA Clippers, Wednesday

This matchup may very well be another preview of a potential first round series. While the Rockets are higher in the standings, the Clipper have had their number all season, winning both of their matchups this year. A win over Houston on Wednesday night will give the Clippers their first series sweep over the Rockets since 2013-14.

4. Portland Trail Blazers (49-28)

Next up: at Memphis Grizzlies, Wednesday

The last time these two teams met, Memphis point guard Mike Conley had a career night with 40 points. Former Ute Delon Wright was also excellent in that March 5 matchup, with 25 points. The Blazers are still reeling after the loss of starting center Jusuf Nurkic, who sustained a serious leg injury on March 25.

5. Utah Jazz (49-30)

Next up: at Phoenix Suns, Wednesday

The Jazz have the fortune of playing the hapless Suns on Wednesday night. They’ve won all three matchups against Phoenix this season, including a 33-point beatdown on March 25. Suns coach Igor Kokoskov has promised that former BYU great Jimmer Fredette will play a stronger role in Wednesday’s game. Time will tell the impact that Fredette has on the game.

6. LA Clippers (47-31)

Next up: vs. Houston Rockets, Wednesday

7. San Antonio Spurs (45-33)

Next up: at Nuggets, Wednesday

8. Oklahoma City Thunder (45-33)

Next up: vs. Detroit Pistons, Friday
