No. 8-seed Remember the Titans defeated No. 24-seed Any Given Sunday in the first round. The 2000 film is a true story that stars Denzel Washington as a newly appointed African-American coach and his high school team on their first season as a racially integrated unit.
No. 24-seed White Men Can’t Jump knocked off No. 9-seed Million Dollar Baby in the first round. The 1992 film stars Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, black and white basketball hustlers join forces to double their chances of winning money on the street courts and in a basketball tournament.
