UVU’s Season Ends With CBI Loss To USF

TAMPA, Fla. – Perhaps the best season in Utah Valley’s program history came to an end with a 66-57 loss to USF in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational.
In the loss, the Wolverines weren’t able to get as much contribution from key players. Jake Toolson was held to just seven points on 3-for-7 shooting. Conner Toolson did not play.

It was a competitive game until the last 10 minutes or so of the second half. Overall the Bulls were the more comfortable team, playing at home. They finished off the Wolverines by forcing 20 UVU turnovers.
Three Bulls finished in double-figure scoring, led by Alexis Yetna’s 18 points. He also completed a double-double with 10 rebounds.
South Florida will continue to advance in the CBI and face Coastal Carolina in the semifinals.
The Wolverines’ season will end with a record of 25-10.
