Jazz Stifle Red-Hot Bradley Beal In Blowout Win

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Coming into the game against the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal was one of the hottest players in the NBA. The Jazz however, completely shut down the All-Star shooting guard by holding him to just 15 points in a 116-95 Utah victory.

Beal’s point total against the Jazz on Monday night wasn’t terrible, but it was a step down considering his recent hot streak. In the two games before hosting the Jazz, Beal had scored 40 points on back-to-back nights. For his efforts before the Jazz came to D.C., Beal was named as the Eastern Conference’s Player of the Week. Jazz center Rudy Gobert was named the Western Conference’s Player of the Week.

He did so efficiently too. In the Wizards’ win over Memphis on Saturday, Beal scored 40 on 12-for-17 shooting with nine 3-pointers made. Against Charlotte the night before that, his 40 points came on 15-for-29 with seven triples.

Against Utah however, Beal was not nearly as sharp. He went just 4-for-12 including 0-for-3 from beyond the arc. His primary defender, Jazz forward Joe Ingles, kept him in handcuffs all night.
