Rudy Gobert Named Western Conference Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The National Basketball Association announced that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 11, through Sunday, March 17.
It is Gobert’s first ever Player of the Week award in his career.
The Jazz big man averaged 16.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game last week, while shooting 69.4 percent from the field, helping the Jazz to a 3-1 record.
In their loss to Oklahoma City, Gobert finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks on 5-of-8 shooting from the field.
Gobert recorded 18 points, 20 rebounds and a steal on 6-for-9 shooting in the Jazz road win over the Phoenix Suns.
In their 10-point win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, Gobert posted 10 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks, while hitting 5-of-7 attempts from the field.
He ended the week with 23 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocks in their dominating win over the Brooklyn Nets. Gobert shot 9-for-12 from the field.
This season, Gobert is averaging a career-high 15.4 points on 65.3 percent shooting from the field, which is the highest in the NBA. He is also averaging a career-high 12.9 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.
The reigning defensive player of the year joins Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards as players of the week.
Utah will begin a four game road trip on Monday night against the Wizards at 5 p.m. on AT&T SportsNet.
