SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – When Utah Jazzmen Joe Ingles and Rudy Gobert get in a on pick and roll, it’s usually good news for their team. For the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Jerami Grant, it was bad news.
Grant was on the receiving end of brutal first quarter dunk by Gobert as the French big man was rolling to the basket on a pass from Ingles.
He went to block the jam by Gobert, but the reigning Defensive Player of the Year would not be denied on the offensive end. Gobert threw the ball down with one hand and took the contact for the foul.
After the dunk went through, with the crowd at Vivint Smart Home Arena still buzzing, Gobert drained the and-one free throw to finish the play.
