SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake midfielder Albert Rusnak gave the club a 1-0 lead after putting away a penalty kick in the 20th minute against the Vancouver Whitecaps at Rio Tinto Stadium.
The play was set up by forward Corey Baird as he was attacking in Vancouver’s 18-yard box and was tripped up by a Whitecaps defender, forcing the official to award the penalty kick.
Rusnak stepped up to the spot and put the ball in the back of the net for his second goal this season. Rusnak is the only RSL player to score a goal this season.
