SEATTLE, Wash. – Jake Toolson scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Utah Valley Wolverines past Seattle, 77-68.
The win gave the Wolverines a 20-8 record overall and a 9-4 record in WAC conference play. While UVU won’t be able to catch New Mexico State for the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, it does mean that the March 7th contest against Grand Canyon could have major implications. The winner would likely take the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
Out of the gates, Seattle grabbed an 8-2 advantage just a little more than a minute into the game. UVU caught the Redhawks quickly and tied the game up at 10-all with a little less than 12 minutes remaining. From there, the two teams played back and forth until the Wolverines were able to grab a five point advantage. They took a 32-27 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Wolverines’ lead ballooned to nine on a triple by Isaiah White to give UVU a 41-32 advantage.
Jake Toolson’s free throws with 12:46 remaining gave UVU a 10-point lead.
A couple minutes later, Conner Toolson hit a 3-pointer to increase the lead to 12 with less than 10 minutes remaining.
The Redhawks never could get a run going in the second as the Wolverines rolled to a nine point win.
In addition to Jake Toolson’s 25 points, UVU also got solid contribution from Richard Harward, who had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double.
Delante Jones led the Redhawks with 16 points.
