Aggies Blow Out SJSU Behind 29 Points By Merrill

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies scored 50-plus points in both halves to roll past San Jose State, 103-73.
After beating the Spartans by 18 on the road two weeks ago, the Aggies put together an even better performance in a 30-point drubbing at home.
The win gives Utah State a 16-5 record overall with a 6-2 record in Mountain West Conference play.

Two Dominant Halves Equals One Big Win
San Jose State briefly led at 14-13 with 14:12 remaining in the first half when the Aggies made a 38-21 run to end the half with a 51-33 lead.
Merrill went 4-for-6 in the first half with 14 points. Aggies got scoring from nine different players in the first half. He drained a deep three at the halftime buzzer to put the punctuation on a great opening half for himself and his team.

The second half wasn’t much better for the Spartans as they trailed by as much as 31 with 5:40 remaining.
Merrill finished with a game-high 29 points with five 3-pointers made.
Neemias Queta also had a strong game with a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Stats Of Interest
It was at the line the Aggies really shined in the game as they went 22-for-24 from the charity stripe.
The Aggies also got contributions from all 11 players that got in the game. As a team, they shared the ball incredibly well with 28 assists on 35 made baskets.

Next Up
Utah State will move on to host UNLV on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. It will be the first and only matchup with the Rebels this year. The game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
