SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Basketball Tournament, which in 2018 featured Team Fredette, a squad led by former BYU star Jimmer Fredette, will return in 2019 with a stop at the Maverik Center for a regional championship.

“I’m so excited that TBT will be coming to Salt Lake City this year,” said Fredette, who averaged a tournament best 32.8 points per game. “I know my guys on Team Fredette are thrilled to have the opportunity to play in front of some of the greatest basketball fans in the world in the beautiful state of Utah. TBT is definitely going to be a can’t-miss event this summer, and fans can expect to see an explosive, aggressive roster full of hungry talent with Team Fredette.”

Team Fredette has been designated as the host team for the Salt Lake City region. The winners of the eight different regions will advance to Championship Weekend in Chicago.

The full tournament will feature 64 teams with an open application period starting on March 1, meaning that anyone can enter a team in the tournament with the bracket being announced on June 11.

Last year, Overseas Elite, a team featuring several American stars from leagues all over the world won the championship after running the table with a 25-0 record.
